Submissions and nominations are open for the Australian Space Awards 2025 - stand out from the competition and be recognised for Diversity Initiative Program of the Year.

The Australian Space Awards recognises top-performing individuals and businesses that are driving expansion in Australia’s space economy.

Currently in its sixth year, the unparalleled awards program showcases the calibre of businesses and teams within space, affirming their essential role in supporting the expansion of Australia’s space industry.

The annual awards celebrate all stakeholders across the space sector, including large corporations, SMEs, start-ups, academic institutions, and associations propelling the industry forward.

Open to all businesses supporting the Australian space industry, the Australian Space Awards encourage submission across launch, telecommunications, satellites, energy, mining and transport, as well as defence, agriculture, disaster and water management.

The awards program will culminate in a black-tie gala ceremony on Wednesday, 28 May 2025, at Ilumina in Sydney. Click here to buy tickets.

The gala ceremony will provide an opportunity to connect with industry leaders and peers across the space sector.

PROMOTED CONTENT

A total of 27 categories are on offer, including 11 individual and 16 group categories, with all eyes on the coveted Diversity Initiative Program of the Year award.

The Diversity Initiative Program of the Year category highlights the transformative efforts of programs and initiatives that promote diversity and inclusivity within the nation’s space industry.

Open to all sectors and specialisations, this award recognises initiatives that have delivered meaningful and positive outcomes, fostering a more inclusive environment in Australia’s growing space economy.

Programs of all sizes, funding levels, geographic locations, and affiliations are encouraged to participate, reflecting the award’s commitment to showcasing impactful efforts regardless of scale.

By celebrating these initiatives, the category aims to inspire continued progress toward a more equitable and diverse space industry.

The Australian Space Awards program, in conjunction with event stakeholders Space Connect, Momentum Media and a panel of leading space professionals, has developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing, and benchmarking Australia’s leading space professionals and businesses. The judging criteria for award categories are both quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence, and contribution to Australia’s space sector.

All businesses and professionals that meet eligibility criteria from across Australia’s space industry are encouraged to participate in the awards program.
