Australia’s first commercial launch site takes a break after Southern Launch decided to ditch the Hapith I rocket following three failed attempts.

On this week’s Space Connect Podcast, Adam, Liam and Bella discuss Southern Launch’s decision to move on from TiSPACE, and what will happen next for the company.

The trio also discusses another commercial launchpad in Arnhem Land that is getting ready for its launch next year, which will also mark the first NASA launch outside of the US.

Then the crew discusses the 30 companies – spearheaded by Gilmour Space – who are pushing the federal government to launch three manufacturing facilities in Queensland, and whether this will propel the nation’s sovereign capabilities forward.

Lastly, the group chats about NASA’s choice of the Nobile crater for its VIPER moon mission, set to prepare the way for astronauts returning to the lunar surface.
