The Australian Space Awards recognises top-performing individuals and businesses that are driving expansion in Australia’s space economy.
The sixth annual awards program acknowledges all stakeholders across the space industry – ranging from major listed organisations and corporates servicing Australia’s space sector to SMEs, start-ups, academic institutions, and associations advancing Australia’s space industry.

A total of 27 categories are on offer, including 11 individual and 16 group categories, with all eyes on the coveted Business of the Year - SME award.

The Business of the Year - SME category honours businesses that have most effectively capitalised on market opportunities and driven demonstrable growth while supporting the strengthening of Australia’s space economy.
This award category is open to all SME space businesses, regardless of specialisation, operating across domains such as agriculture, launch, observation, research and development, telecommunications, satellite, energy, mining, transport, and all other space-related disciplines.
Space Connect encourages submissions from all space SMEs.
The Australian Space Awards program, in conjunction with event stakeholders Space Connect, Momentum Media and a panel of leading space professionals, has developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing, and benchmarking Australia’s leading space professionals and businesses.

The judging criteria for award categories are both quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence, and contribution to Australia’s space sector.
All businesses and professionals that meet eligibility criteria from across Australia’s space industry are encouraged to participate in the awards program.
